Seven shot, two killed, one stabbed overnight in Detroit

Detroit police are investigating six separate incidents that left seven people shot, two killed and one person stabbed across the city overnight.

According to police, the first incident happened around 10:15 p.m. in the 8700 block of Epworth, near Joy Rd. and Livernois on the city's west side.

An officer arrived at the home and found two gunshot victims in the living room. A man and woman were both pronounced dead at the scene.

At 1:10 a.m., police say a man was shot in the leg during a robbery in the 18700 block of Hickory. That's near 7 Mile and Schoenherr on the city's east side.

About 20 minutes later, a 40-year-old man received a graze wound to his head while sitting inside his home in the 17200 block of Chapel, near Grand River and McNichols. Police say three suspect pulled up outside the home and opened fire.

Just before 2 a.m., a man was shot in the head and multiple times in the body was sitting inside his vehicle near Livernois and Davison.

Police say another shooting happened around 3 a.m. near 8 Mile and Dequindre on the northeast side where a victim heard shots and felt pain.

Finally, around 4:08 a.m., a man was shot with a shotgun in the back of his left knee and another man was stabbed twice in the back and once in the forearm at a gas station near Fort St. and Outer Dr.

According to police, the man who was shot stabbed the other man, but the man has no idea how the suspect was shot.
