Holiday shop helps parents provide for Christmas

Posted

Lucy Gonzales was thrilled to get some Christmas shopping done Wednesday morning.

Thanks to The Children’s Center’s Holiday Shop, all five of her kids will get some special holiday gifts.

"The holiday shop gives parents the dignity and respect to shop for gifts free of charge for their children,” says Holly Gorezki.  “The holiday shop is my favorite time of the season, where we can provide families with basic need - items for their children. So every child receives a new toy, hat, gloves, stocking stuffer, socks and underwear.”

“It is really good because sometimes you don’t have alot of money and they give you something for the kids,” said Lucy.  “Not everyone has a good economical situation. When you have alot of kids that happens.”

The Children Center will be serving 460 families and well over 1,100 kids this Christmas - all of them are clients at the center.

They even have a wrapping station for the presents.

“All of the items in the shop are donated by local businesses, corporations, individuals, churches, and schools,” said Gorezki.

Moms like Lucy are looking forward to seeing their children’s faces when they tear through the wrapping paper Christmas morning.

“This is the best Christmas for my kids and I like this thing because they have presents for everybody,” said Lucy.
