Thieves use truck to smash through Detroit store front and make off with ATM

Posted

Police say early this morning, someone inside of a pickup truck drove into the front of a store and got away with the ATM machine.

Still the store is open for business.

James Liggens has been the chef B & S Liquor & Grocery Store for more than four-decades and his customers are just as loyal.

But this morning crooks put a big dent in the business for the second time within the last year.

Police say around five this morning, someone inside of a black ford F-250 drove right into the front of the store, attached a chain to the ATM machine and took off with it.

We're told hundreds of dollars was inside.

Police say both the truck and ATM machine were later found a few blocks away, with the money inside gone and the thieves are still on the streets.

But, as the cleanup continues, James and the rest of the staff say they aren't going to let anyone stop them for serving their community.

If you have any information about the person who did this, police want to hear from you.
