According to police, the suspect kicked in the door at the home in the 16600 block of Rutherford around 6:30 Saturday morning.
Three people were fatally shot, a fourth was injured.
Family members tell 7 Action News, the victims are all relatives. Latisha Davis, said her mother, Michelle Davis, grandfather, Robert Pittman, and cousin, Darrian Jones, were killed.
"I just don't know what words, people be on TV all the time and I say how could that be me, but now I am that person and I'm going to try to stay as strong as I can,” said Davis.
Police do have a suspect in custody. The suspect was arrested at the hospital. At this point, police are not releasing who that person is or their relationship to the victims.
"We have some positive leads at this time so we wont compromise the investigation, we kind of have to keep in close to the vest,” said Ofc. Kenneth Hampton with the Detroit Police Department.
Davis said she is also waiting on police to give her the full details about what happened.
"I really don't know exactly what happened, I can only know what I was told but I don't want to give the wrong information,” said Davis.
Davis said she is devastated by the loss of her mother, grandfather and cousin.
"She was strong, she always cared for everybody else, always been there for everybody else, she was the backbone of our family,” said Davis.
Davis said she wants to fulfill her dreams to honor her mother.
"I always told her I wanted to be a homicide detective to bring justice to other people's lives for killing for someone that killed their family member, and now I've got to do it,” said Davis.
Police said the suspect will likely be arraigned on Monday.
