Police say they have arrested two men believed to be behind a crime spree in east Detroit.

Police say Bryan Gray and Davon Hill were arrested after they allegedly broke into the Harper Liquor Shop near Harper and May on Detroit’s east side on July 7.

Surveillance cameras caught them using a sledge hammer to break a hole into the business's back wall.

Police say Gray, Hill and a third man were caught ransacking the aisles and bagging liquor, cigarettes and other valuable products.

Lt. Charles Clark says they were tracking a pattern of breaking and entering crimes across the east side, “Dozens, dozens of businesses."

He says investigators believe these men are connected to many more break-ins, “burglaries of gas stations and party stores and other businesses, so this is pretty big."

Clark tells us the slew of crimes date back to 2015, with several businesses being victimized time and again.

"They want to do business in the city, they're good to the community and it does do damage to them when they're victimized like that," he says.

Due to the amount and frequency of the crimes, DPD was using their fugitive recovery unit, fugitive apprehension team, special operations task force and violent crimes task force to track the crimes.

Police say once inside the Harper Liquor Shop the alarm system was tripped and the three tried to run.

Gray and Hill were caught, the third man is still on the run.

Bryan Gray and Davon Hill were arraigned with bond set at $75,000 each.

Police are still working to identify the third man caught on camera. If you know anything about this crime please call police.
