Amy Lee Fergusorn is thankful she will have a warm place to sleep tonight.
Fergusorn is a client of Cass Community Social Services and will sleep tonight in the Warming Center.
"I thank God that there's places like this that you can go to," Fergusorn told 7 Action News.
The warming center is one of three facilities to receive funding by the city of Detroit to serve residents in need.
"We have a permit to have 40 people here and we're full," said Rev. Faith Fowler, CEO of the non-profit.
The organization also provides men, women and families who are clients with meals, showers and a place to stay warm during the day.
Sleeping accommodations are for single women and women with children only, at the nearby warming center location.
Fowler said despite being at capacity, they wouldn't turn someone away who needed help.
"If on one of these cold nights someone needed to come in, we'd find a way around it so that people can find safe harbor," she said.
Operation Get Down and Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries also operate warming centers through March 31, 2017.
