A memorial is growing on Van Dyke, just north of 8 Mile in Warren, after a 13-year-old girl was killed while crossing the street.
Alicia Gardner was hit and killed Friday night.
Warren Mayor Jim Fouts says it was dark and rainy at the time of the accident, and Walker was not crossing at a cross walk.
Fouts says the driver stayed at the scene and told police he did not see the girl.
Family friends tell 7 Action News that they are devastated by Gardner's death.
Officials say this is not being treated as a criminal case, and the driver is not expected to face any charges.
