This happened in Warren Wednesday afternoon at the TCF Bank on East Ten Mile Road.

Police have charged 54-year-old Dennis Grantham for bank robbery.

They say he handed the teller a note demanding cash. He then walked a block away to the Ryan Tavern.

While police were looking for Grantham  they say he was inside drinking a beer.

"There was no conversation, there was no confrontation at all, it was just a matter of fact 'here you are, let's go to jail'," says Matthew Nichols with the Warren Police Department.

Police also recovered the nearly $300 that was taken from the bank.

Grantham has six prior felony convictions. His bonds been set at $500,000.
