Bogus 911 call sends dozens of police officers to Sterling Heights home on report of hostages

Posted
A 911 caller who apparently claimed that an armed assailant was holding hostages and demanding $10,000 could now be facing criminal charges.

Sterling Heights Police say the call was bogus and those living at the house where they were dispatched had no idea what was happening when SWAT arrived at their home.

Police say it appears to involve a dispute between a teenager who lives at the house where police were sent and another teen.

The dangerous prank could now result in criminal charges and an order of restitution against the caller.
