Miller, who is currently a Republican representative for Michigan's 10th District, announced last year she would not seek re-election in the U.S. House of Representatives. She later announced her bid for public works commissioner.
Marrocco has been the public works commissioner since 1992, but was recently fined by the county's ethics board for using a county facility in a television ad.
As of 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Miller was leading Marrocco 55 percent to 45 percent with 87 percent of precincts reporting. Check live updated election results here.
