We are correcting information we broadcast in connection with allegations of corruption in Macomb County.
On Oct. 28, we showed you businessman Eddie Jawad accusing Macomb Township Trustee Dino Bucci of abuse of power and retaliation.
In that same story, Jawad said he wanted to buy a strip mall at the corner of 22 Mile and Romeo Plank roads and offered $2.1 million.
We reported another businessman, Guy Rizzo, no relation to the owners of Rizzo Sanitation, got that property for a much lower price of $379,000. That was not the case.
Guy Rizzo actually bought two parcels at the same corner. He paid $2.2 million, not $379,000 for the parcel that Mr. Jawad had offered to buy for $2.1 million.
There is also no information trustee Dino Bucci had anything to do with that sale. We regret the error and apologize to Mr. Guy Rizzo.
