Macomb Township trustee tried to extort tens of thousands from contract, lawsuit alleges

MT. CLEMENS, Mich. (WXYZ) - A Macomb Township trustee is accused of soliciting a bribe from a construction business, according to a newly filed lawsuit.
According to the lawsuit, Dino Bucci tried to extort more than $75,000 from a contractor in order for the contractor to get a refund on investments.
Gianna Investments is seeking nearly $500,000 after they say they paid $151,000 for construction permit fees and water and sewer fees for a commercial building project. The project is now being completed by another company.
They tried for years to get a refund from Macomb Township, but according to the lawsuit, Bucci "intentionally interfered by engaging in improper and illegal activities. During the day, Bucci for the Macomb County Public Works director.
The lawsuit was filed just days after the FBI announced it is conducting an investigation into widespread government corruption in Macomb County.
