Clinton Township police say a man who was arrested escaped custody during a prisoner exchange on Saturday afternoon.
According to police, they received a call about a suspicious person in the area of 15 Mile and Groesbeck around 12:15 p.m. Saturday. Through a criminal check, they found the man had an outstanding warrant from St. Clair County. It's unclear what the arrest warrant was for at this time.
The man was arrested, and taken to the area of I-94 and 26 Mile Rd. to be turned over to the Marysville Police Department.
During the exchange, police say the man was able to break free and flee into a wooded area. Police searched the area but couldn't find the man.
