Sterling Heights police say one person died Friday night in a head-on collision near Plumbrook and Plainview, just east of Dodge Park Rd. Another person is in critical condition.
According to police, a silver SUV traveling west on Plumbrook at a high rate of speed crossed into the eastbound lanes, and hit a silver car going east on Plumbrook. Both drivers were taken to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.
According to police, the driver of the silver car was identified as a 17-year-old Sterling Heights girl. The driver of the SUV was identified as a 42-year-old Sterling Heights man. Police originally reported that both drivers had died, but we're told the man is in critical condition.
According to police, alcohol and speed are believed to be a factor in the crash.
