Man trapped under gravel hauler rescued by Sterling Heights firefighters

Posted

A man who was trapped underneath a gravel hauler is expected to make a full recovery.

John Frontera works at Troy Aggregates in Sterling Heights. He was at work on Monday when the gravel hauler he was in tipped over. The 44-year-old was pinned under the cab which had rolled on the driver's side.

He managed to radio to his office for help. After that, 911 was called and Sterling Heights firefighters rushed to the scene.

It took them 27 minutes to extricate him.

Frontera says he's so thankful to his co-workers and those firefighters for saving him.

"They were respectful, professional and very delicate with the situation," he says.

He says he will have to go through rehab and must keep weight off of his leg for at least the next 6 weeks.
