Since a story aired on 7 Action News about an alleged Ponzi scheme, more victims are coming forward.

A Shelby Township man is accused of being the mastermind behind it. A lawsuit says Gino Accettola stole more than $3.7 million from eleven plaintiffs.

He allegedly told them he is a builder who could make big money for anyone willing to invest in his projects. He took the money. However, his victims now have evidence that makes them believe the projects were fake.

They have hired Attorney Corey Silverstein of Silverstein Law in Bingham Farms to sue and help them attempt to get their money back.

"The response that we have seen so far has just been incredible,” said Silverstein. “People from Michigan and Ohio are calling to say they too have had dealings with Mr. Accetola,” said Silverstein.

So  where did the money go?

It may have funded a luxurious lifestyle.  Accetola drives a Bently, owns a yacht that he is keeping in Saint Clair Shores and loves to gamble.

“Mr. Accettola has spent a lot of time at casinos,” said Silverstein.

Gino Accettola has told 7 Action News his attorney advised him not to answer our questions or tell his side of the story.
