Parents with children in Warren Woods Public Schools are being warned about a suspicious man who asked a child if he wanted a ride home.

According to a letter sent by the district's superintendent, the incident happened Monday around 3:50 p.m. on Roan near Martin, not far from Eleven Mile and Hoover.

The child said he was approached by a man in a white work van. The man got out of the van and asked the child if he wanted a ride home, the child said.

The child said he immediately turned around and ran back toward Westwood Elementary.

On the way back to the school, the child spotted his father and together they explained what happened to officials at the school.

The child described the stranger as an older white man, with a mustache and gray and black hair on the sides of his head. He was bald on the top of his head, the child said.

The man was wearing jeans and a black and white checkered shirt.

If you have any information, call Warren police.
