Rescue crews free man trapped in trench in Warren, rush him to hospital

Warren Mayor Jim Fouts has posted an update on the rescue to Facebook:

9:30 p.m.

Fire crews have taken the man from the trench. He is being taken to Royal Oak Beaumont.

Officials say he is a 37-year-old man. He is being described as significantly injured. However, his exact injuries aren't known.

He jumped into the hole with out a protective structure. He was partially buried.

A secondary collapse also occurred, which completely buried him. However, officials say he was able to get his head above the dirt.

Rescue workers are trying to free a man who has been trapped in a trench.

It's happening at Van Dyke and Murthum.

There's no word on the man's condition.
