MACOMB, Mich. (WXYZ) — Who poops in a pool? On purpose?

Buckingham Recreational Facilities Association released a statement on Friday after the pool was closed for the Fourth of July holiday.

"Someone has been defecating in the pool," a post online from the board's president said. "Due to the frequency over the past week, we believe this is intentional. At the present time, we are reviewing attendance logs and recorded video."

On Friday, parents and children were at the pool swimming. The president also threaten legal action in the memo.

"We are consulting with the local authorities regarding our options," she said.

7 Action News reached out to police Friday afternoon and a spokesperson said, they were not aware of the incident.

If it's true. It's potentially a public safety issue. Those who swim when ill with diarrhea place other swimmers at significant risk for getting sick, according to a health department in New York.

The recreation board's president refused to talk with 7 Action News about the health dangers. However, the group said, the pool was drained and sanitized.
