Shelby Township police say they have arrested a suspect in the armed robbery of a 7-Eleven store early Friday morning.
According to police, the suspect held a knife to the cashier of the store at 24 Mile and Shelby Rd. and demanded money from the register. It happened around 12:32 a.m. Friday.
He fled the store with the money in an unknown direction driving a dark colored SUV.
Police say by 9 a.m., they had identified the suspect with the help of tips from the public, and he was in custody by 1 p.m.
He is expected to be arraigned on Saturday.
