The Macomb County Sheriff's Office says an 18-year-old Chesterfield Township man died after a head-on collision in Harrison Township early Monday morning.
According to deputies, it happened around 2:45 a.m. Monday on North River Rd. between Bridgeview and I-94.
Deputies say the man was driving a 2007 BMW eastbound when he tried to pass another vehicle. When the man passed the center line, he collided with a 2010 Chevy Malibu, killing the BMW driver.
A 19-year-old from New Baltimore was driving the Malibu and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 19-year-old from Harrison Township was driving the vehicle that got passed. They were not injured but the vehicle was damaged.
It is not clear if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
