Posted

A teen in Macomb Township is recovering from a terrifying ordeal. Her story is a reminder for all parents of the importance of talking to your children about and monitoring who they are talking to on-line.

The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office says a 15-year-old girl started chatting with a man on the app Kik. It is a messaging app where you can be anonymous. When she found out who the man she was chatting with really was, it was terrifyingly too late.

She had arranged to meet with Nicholas Scott Reynolds the area of 21 Mile and Romeo Plank Road. She told investigators the 31-year-old man then raped her in his car.

She managed to get away. Investigators identified her alleged attacker as Reynolds, who is a registered sex offender.

According to the State Sex Offender Registry, he was convicted of having child pornography in 2013 in another state.

Investigators say they searched his home in Chesterfield Township and found child pornography again. He is now facing 4 charges in connection to that child pornography.

He is in jail  in Macomb County being held on a $200,000 bond.

Investigators say he is not yet charged in connection to his alleged assault on the teen.
