Roseville Police are trying to figure out why two Roseville High School students had semi-automatic handguns inside their backpacks Friday afternoon.
Police tell us a staff member was alerted to a student who may have a gun on them.
During the course of the investigation, they found another student with a gun inside a backpack. We're told one student is 17-years-old, the other only described as a juvenile.
Investigators say, right now, they found no immediate threat or danger to anyone at the school.
Police spent several hours Friday night interviewing the two teenagers and witnesses. They have not released a motive.
We tried reaching out to school administrators, but no one was available immediately for comment.
A school official told 7 Action News robo-calls went out to families shortly after the teenagers were caught with those handguns.
