The Warren Police Department arrested three suspects for retail fraud at Target, located on Dequindre Road, on Monday morning.
Officers responded to a call that reported two men entering the store and loading a shopping cart full of laptop computers. They then pushed the cart out the front door without paying.
The suspects reportedly loaded the stolen computers into a beige Buick. The caller also said the suspects are believed to be responsible for similar thefts in the area.
Officers responded as the suspects fled in the Buick east on 12 Mile Road from the store.
One of the responding units attempted to stop the car, but the driver failed to stop, and a vehicle pursuit was initiated.
Officers deployed stop sticks and 12 Mile and Mound Road, flattening the rear tire of the suspect vehicle.
The suspects pulled into the parking lot of Meijer on Mound Road, and then fled the vehicle on foot into the store.
The driver, a 27-year-old male Detroit resident, was taken into custody as he left Meijer. The second suspect, a 26-year-old male Detroit resident, was arrested in the parking lot, and the third suspect, a 25-year-old female resident, was arrested in the parking lot, as well.
Six laptop computers with a total retail value of $1,100 were recovered from the suspect vehicle.
"This is another example of the outstanding police work performed by the men and women of the Warren Police Department," said Deputy Police Commissioner Matt Nichols.
