Celebrity endorsements can make or break a product. That's something a local baker is learning after Steve Harvey posted a video on social media praising his cheesecake!

Peteet's Famous Cheesecake in Oak Park has been busy since getting the endorsement.

Owner Patrick Peteet said, "It's been crazy. The video has got over 600,000 likes."

Peteet wanted to get his cheesecakes some national exposure, so he and his family decided to load up his truck with cheesecakes and drive to Chicago.

His ride was fueled by hope and faith, as they attended the Steve Harvey Show Tuesday as audience members

When the show had a question/answer session, Patrick asked Steve Harvey to try to their cheesecakes.

"Gave him the cheesecake and said, 'I'm going to try it in my lunch and if it's good, I will let you, if it's not I will roast you.'"

Two hours later Steve Harvey posted the video on Instagram and ever since business has been booming!

Employees are working harder than ever to keep up with demand.

"We have cheesecake but we may not have all the flavors that we normally have because we are wiped out."

On Wednesday, the comedian called Patrick personally.

"'This is the Bentley of cheesecakes. The best I ever had in my life.' So,that was an honor to get a call from him. This is what I've been working for for 6 years. It's to build a brand."

The bakery has been getting calls to order cheesecake from all over the country, and some from all over the world.

Now, they are figuring out how to ship their sweets now that there is such a big demand.

"It's just the Steve Harvey effect," he said. "My whole team is on cloud 9 but they should be because we work hard everyday, so I'm happy."

Patrick says he was put on this earth to create unique dessert.

"My blessing to the world is to give people dessert. This is what I'm here for. This is my calling. This is my gift and I'm giving it to people, so I love it," he added.
