A Detroit man is behind bars on Friday after shooting up Hookah Joe's in Royal Oak last weekend.

Police say 22-year-old Deangilo Ruffin opened fire after getting into an argument with someone at the lounge.

Lt. David Clemens says he was kicked out, found that person in the parking lot, and fired one shot. The victim ran back into the lounge.

That's when police say Ruffin got into the front passenger seat of a Dodge Charger, pulled up to the front of the business and fired four more shots, all targeting one person.

"Firing randomly or at an individual that's inside a building or entering a building. We're very lucky that nobody was killed," Clemens said.

He was charged with two counts of assault with intent to commit murder, three counts of possession of a firearm in commission of a felony and one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling causing injury.

The judge set bond at $300,000.

"The allegations that there were multiple shots fired into an occupied structure here in this community is sufficient Until I hear more facts at a preliminary examination I think it's necessary that I set a high cash bond," said 44th District Judge Derek Meinecke.

Those shots did injure someone in the business, an employee who had nothing to do with the argument was grazed by a bullet and taken to the hospital.

Police tell us a second person involved, the driver of the Dodge charger will not be prosecuted.
