The Detroit Zoo announced today that the polar bear Tundra has died.

Tundra came to the zoo from Indianapolis in June after that city's zoo shut down their polar bear exhibit.

In a posting on their Facebook page, the Detroit Zoo said that Tundra became ill on Sunday. She continued to decline Monday morning and the decision was made to euthanize her as her quality of life was declining.

Tundra was 29-years-old.
