Pan, a 35-pound Shiba Inu, is recovering after having his ear ripped and being bitten by coyotes that surrounded him around 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Thankfully, Pan's family heard the noises in their backyard and raced to scare off the coyotes with loud noises.

But some of those living in the neighborhood near Waldon and Sashabaw roads say the coyotes have been a real problem in the last two to three years.

One woman says she and her husband hired a professional trapper who caught four coyotes near their home. The trapper also informed them that he found a coyote den in another neighborhood not far away with the carcasses of about fourteen fawns nearby.
