Earl the paralyzed metro Detroit cat gets a 3D printed wheelchair!

Earl, who was rescued as a kitten, moves around his family's house so quickly, you might have to do a double-take to realize his back legs are paralyzed.

That's how he was found at around five-weeks-old and it's believed he was born that way.

"He goes camping. He goes to Costco. I take him everywhere," said Keina Romanelli who fostered and then adopted Earl from Their Last Resort Rescue.

And even without the use of his back legs, it seemed nothing could stop Earl. But dragging his body around eventually caused him to develop a lump on his back.

Designers with C3 Ventures in Flint heard that Earl, who has his own Facebook page, was beginning to have issues and they set out to use 3D printing to engineer a wheelchair for him.
