Ferndale police are investigating after about a a half dozen cars were broken into in a quiet residential area.
While the city is resurfacing neighborhood streets, 20 or so cars were parked at a church parking lot, but a lack of light and watchful eyes meant someone saw it as an opportunity for crime.
Mike McNamara and his roommate both were hit, windows shattered on their vehicles.
It appears nothing of real value was taken from any of the cars, so police don't know if it was intended to be theft or just vandalism.
