An Oak Park man who needed help getting the extra money he put down for reading glasses contacted 7 Action News after getting nearly two months of runaround.
Herbert Simpson, 57, is a retiree from the city of Detroit. He drove school busses for a living, and now he spends his time reading and taking care of his family and their home.
He saved up to get eyeglasses he desperately needed, and put over $1,000 down for them.
In March, he got his reading glasses back, but something wasn't right and he couldn't see clearly. When he asked for a refund, they told him no, he said.
7 Action News reporter Jennifer Bisram contacted the company today. They immediately apologized saying there was some sort of mix-up. They are issuing Simpson a refund for the difference in lenses and are sending his son free contact lenses.
