A 19-year-old Pontiac man is in custody for allegedly hiding a loaded gun under a 2-year-old’s mattress.
The situation started around midnight when several gun shots could be heard near the North Hills apartment complex.
According to Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, when deputies arrived in the area, a man with a loaded .22 caliber hand gun barged into a woman’s unit.
He forced his way past her and stuffed the weapon under the mattress of toddler’s car crib.
According to Bouchard, the man had a previous relationship with the woman.
The complex’s security personnel was able to describe the gunman’s vehicle and deputies were able to track down the man and his car.
Deputies found several rounds on the man and more inside the car. He is expected to face charges.
