Metro Detroit man arrested after police find 9 pounds of marijuana in car

Lake Orion Police arrested a 28-year-old Orion Township resident after 9.5 pounds of marijuana and an amount of illegal prescription pills were found in his car.

Joshua Dean Olson was reportedly pulled over by an officer after driving in a manner consistent with intoxication.

When the officer activated his emergency lights, Olson missed the entrance to a business driveway and striked the curb, blowing out his tire and damaging the car.

As he was being tested for sobriety, he ran from the officer and attempted to enter the back seat of his vehicle, where police found the marijuana and pills.

Olsen has been charged with one count of Controlled Substance - Delivery/Manufacture Marijuana, a four-year felony, and one count of Controlled Substance - Possession/Analogues, a two-year felony. 

Bond has been set at $5,000.

The charge of Operating a Vehicle with Presence of Drugs in pending blood/drug lab analysis.
