What started off as a Facebook post, turned into a community coming together for one autistic child's birthday.

Business owners in Highland and Milford are rallying together to give Molly Dirani, a special needs child, a birthday she will never forget.

It started a couple of weeks ago when Molly saw a sign wishing someone else a happy birthday

She told her mother, Heather Belkadi, "On my birthday, that's going to be my name."

Belkadi said, "Oh, okay, I have to figure it out."

For Molly's family, every birthday matters.

"When she was born, they said she wouldn't make it," Belkadi explained.  "And then they said she wouldn't make it to a week. Then they said she wouldn't leave the hospital."

Molly turns 8 on March 14th.

Belkadi went on the community Facebook page "Highland Matters" to find out how she can get a business to write "Happy Birthday Molly Dolly" on their sign.

She said, "Within an hour literally over 100 people were writing 'we will do it, we'll do it.  Let's give this little girl the best birthday ever!'"

Brian Bender from Tuffy Auto Center was one of the many who responded.

"Once I met her she was, just heart of gold. She sat right next to me and it was so nice to see," he said.

Belkadi added, "We have been overwhelmed by the support and love from everyone."

Molly is pretty excited to be the center of attention - as more and more signs pop up.

Molly said, "Don't forget presents!

Belkadi said if anyone feels inspired to send a gift to Molly, to instead make a donation to a charity in Molly's name.
