Legislation aims to prevent pets left in cars

Soon, people who leave their pets in hot cars could face felony charges, and the animal doesn't have to die or even become ill for it to be a crime.

State Senator Curtis Hertel Jr. introduced the bill and says leaving a dog in a hot car is cruel and amounts to torture.
