Shoppers and workers at a Wixom Meijer were traumatized when a man packing a pistol came into the store making threats.
The incident happened around 12:30a.m. on August 2.
He pointed the gun at a worker who was at the store. Witnesses told police the man was not making any demands just making threats and using profanity.
The victim and the gunman did not know each other.
The man left the store before Wixom police arrived and began their investigation. A few hours later he returned while police were still at the scene and witnesses pointed him out - sending police on a brief chase.
He began to drive recklessly, so police took down his license plate number and stopped their pursuit. They later found him at his home in Novi.
The Novi Police Department, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department and Wixom police all surrounded the home and got the suspect to surrender peacefully.
