Madison Heights police are warning residents of a group of people who are targeting the area posing as city employees.

According to police, they are posing as Department of Public Works or Water Department employees and trying to trick their way into homes.

Police say the individuals will then steal from the victims if they get inside.

Police are reminding residents to never let an unknown person into their home, and call the Madison Heights Police Department if you believe someone is posing as a worker at 248-585-2100 or dial 911.
