A motel in Royal Oak Township with a troubled history is being forced to close.
Now the people who live there on a long-term basis will have to find someplace else to call home by next Tuesday.
Michigan State Police spent time at the Royal Inn Motel Thursday afternoon along with officials from Royal Oak Township and other agencies.
Township officials shot video of the meeting with representatives of the building's owner.
Shortly after it broke up, the condemnation signs were posted on the front door of the business.
According to many who live here the action is long overdue.
John Jackson is contracted by the Township to inspect buildings.
A YouTube show, "Another Dirty Room," recently featured the motel and showcased the condition inside one of the rooms, which Jackson calls deplorable.
