A driver was seriously injured late Monday night in a semi vs. car accident in Novi. It's happening on eastbound I-96 at Meadowbrook Rd. The highway is back open.
According to police, one person was "extricated" from the car using the jaws of life and transported to the hospital. We're not sure of the driver's condition. Right now, all drivers are being routed off the freeway at Novi Rd.
Sources tell 7 Action News the semi-truck also has a fuel leak with a half-full tank losing fuel. They have covered the sewer and HAZMAT rings are in place. The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has also been notified.
