Troy police say the man who used a screwdriver to rob a gas station in the city earlier this week has been arrested.

According to police, 38-year-old Shaun Benns from Pontiac threatened a clerk at the Clark gas station on Rochester Rd. and demanded money. Once he got the money, he ordered the clerk to the ground and took off.

After investigators got his vehicle information, Oakland County Sheriff's deputies and Auburn Hills police spotted the vehicle in Auburn Hills and tried to stop him.

Deputies took him into custody after a short vehicle and foot pursuit. According to police, he was leaving a trail of money along with path.

Police say he is also being investigated in several other armed robberies in the area.

He was charged with armed robbery on July 26, and his bond was denied.
