With so many dogs in shelters waiting for someone to come along and choose them, one self-described goofball seems to have met his four-legged twin in the grin department. And their adoption picture is lighting up the internet.
Dan Tillery, a musician from Waterford, and his girlfriend, Megan Rose Long, recently settled into their new house.
Friends, who knew the couple wanted to add a dog to their family, tagged Tillery on a picture on Facebook.
The picture, on Detroit Dog Rescue's Facebook page, featured "Sir Wiggleton."
The non-profit rescue group pulled the American Bulldog mix from Detroit Animal Care and Control months ago.
And, like Tillery, Sir Wiggleton was described as a "big goofball."
Tillery and Long knew that was the dog for them.
The couple adopted the dog who is now known as "Diggy."
Diggy is loving his new home, but he's still getting used to his new dad's guitar.
Tillery is a musician with "Dan Tillery & Dave G." And, in time, Tillery hopes to have Diggy joining him on stage since the pooch loves attention.
You can catch Tillery singing Friday, June 10, at Exodos Rooftop in Detroit's Greektown from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday, June 11, Dan Tillery & Dave G. will be performing at Bricks of Northville from 9 p.m. to midnight.
