There has been a rash of car break in Royal Oak, 16 in one week.
At least five all happened in the same area off Campbell Road and in all five, no windows were broken.
"There was no damage to my vehicle, so we're assuming that, possibly, I left my door open,” said Steven Armstrong, a resident at the Village Park Apartments, off of Campbell.
Armstrong is just one of the five victims from that area.
"I think this lot was targeted because we are adjacent to Campbell Road.” said Armstrong.
Most of the victims lost items like chargers, or a GPS, but Armstrong lost something a little more valuable.
"My biggest item was my suitcase, I was recently married, my wife is in Canada currently and my wedding band and my two suits were stolen,” said Armstrong.
The newlywed is already in need of a new ring, but thankfully, he said he has good insurance.
According to Royal Oak Police, among the 16 break-ins, several resulted in broken windows, in one instance police actually caught the suspect in the act.
As far as the residents living at Village Park off Campbell, it’s a good idea to keep your car doors locked.
"I will always lock my car from here on out,” said Armstrong.
