The Chief Executive Officer for the Walk for Israel tells 7 Action News its website was hacked today.

For nearly three hours, a hateful message appeared on the home screen of www.walkforisrael.org.

Andre Douville says he started getting phone calls and text messages around 12:15 pm Tuesday afternoon.

The hacker actually misspelled the message.

Douville says this incident will not scare him or others from carrying on their lives.

The West Bloomfield Police Department is now involved in the case, and Douville says it will soon be forwarded to the FBI to see if it meets the standards of a hate crime.

Douville tells us, "In my mind, it's a hate crime."

He went on to say he expects to talk to the FBI tomorrow.

The walk highlights the relationship between Israel and the U.S.

This will be the 12th year of the walk in May, when thousands typically show their support.
