West Bloomfield students mourn loss of teacher

Grief counselors will be at West Bloomfield High School today to help students and staff cope with the loss of a beloved teacher.

In a statement released Tuesday night, the district said Micah Greene had passed away.

According to the school's website, Greene had been a teacher in the theatre arts program since 2003. He also taught several video production classes. The website said he had attended Western Michigan University and earned a Master's Degree from Oakland University.

The district said the circumstances surrounding Greene's death were unclear.

Funeral arrangements were not immediately available.

One person reacted to the loss on twitter saying, "Woke up to the news that Micah Greene, one of my favorite high school teachers, passed away. May his soul rest in peace."

Another tweet said "Micah Greene you were generous, witty, sarcastic, hilarious, amazing and a wonderful human being. No one will ever be as funny as you."

Another tweet said he "never failed to check in on me or to make me smile. RIP Micah Greene."
