Neighbors and witnesses believe a house was intentionally set on fire on Hawthorne in Ypsilanti Township. But firefighters are holding off on making any final determination now.

We're told more than one person has been arrested in connection with the fire.

Witnesses tell us they saw a black car speeding away from the scene just moments after.

The house exploded and flames erupted around 1:30pm Friday afternoon. Cell phone video captured by a passerby shows the home engulfed in flames, and neighbors walking around the house.

The house belongs to James Galanopolous, who says people were inside during the fire, but got out safely.

eighbors say the house is a major problem in the area.

Galanopolous, who was running an errand when it happened, says, "I don't know if people were doing drugs inside the house. I don't allow that in my house."

The Red Cross is helping out.
