Two people charged in connection with the death of a 16-month-old girl appeared in court today for their preliminary exam.
Christopher Scott Olinger and Asia Markham have been both charged with First Degree Murder and First Degree Child Abuse in the death of Amina Markham. Amina was Asia Markham's daughter.
Hamtramck police were called to a home in the 2600 block of Commor in October to a 911 call about a baby not breathing.
Officials say the found Asia Markham outside, holding her unresponsive infant. The girl was taken to Children's Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
An autopsy showed that the child died from blunt force trauma to the chest and the death was ruled a homicide..
