A homicide investigation is underway after the body of a missing man was found in Detroit. Family members say Jason Kudla's body was discovered in Detroit.

Kudla's body was found Sunday morning around 6:30 a.m. near Davison and Dean, but a connection was not made until Thursday, August 3.

Jason's father Larry Kudla now knows what's happened to his 30-year-old son who had been missing for several days after attending a party with friends in Hamtramck last weekend.

Jason's body was found burning in between two vacant houses on Dean Street near the Davison around 6:30 Sunday morning.

We're told dental records had to be used to link the body to Kudla who was reportedly last seen leaving a party at a friend's house near Evaline Street and Conant around 1:00 a.m. Sunday.

Right now, the manner and cause of death are listed as pending, but Detroit Police are treating Kudla's death as a homicide.

Anyone with any information in the case is urged to call Detroit Police Homicide investigators at 313-596-2260
