LIVONIA, Mich. (WXYZ) — We have a crime alert in Livonia where police say they have received multiple reports of counterfeit money being spent.

Police shared a picture from surveillance video recorded on April 4 when someone came into the Jimmy Johns on Middle Belt in Livonia and bought a meal with a $100 bill. Police say it turns out that bill was counterfeit. Police are still looking for the suspect.

On May 15 it happened again. This time the person went to the Big Lots on Plymouth Road and bought a Shark Ion Vacuum and Chips Ahoy Cookies with two fake one hundreds.

He then returned the vacuum at the Westland Big Lots for cash.

An individual reported another incident involving fake one hundred dollar bills in March. Police are working to find out if these cases are related.
