Interior designer dies of injuries from attack

7 Action News has learned that a well known interior designer has died as a result of injuries that he sustained in an attack that took place in his home in March.

Daniel Clancy, 69, had just returned from shopping at Costco on March 6 when he was attacked in his home in Grosse Pointe Farms around 4:30 pm.

Clancy, a well-known interior designer with the firm Perlmutter-Freiwald, Inc. in Franklin. He was stabbed in the neck and his throat was slashed.

At the time, investigators say the attack does not appear to be random.

Three days after the attack, a suspect was arrested.
