Grosse Pointe Woods police warn residents about thieves targeting unlocked cars

Posted

A rash of car break-ins has Grosse Pointe Woods police issuing a warning to residents.

Over the past week, there have been 12 reported break-ins throughout the community.

Police believe the suspects are doing what is known as "car surfing", which is when they go through a neighborhood and check for unlocked vehicles to steal the contents.

Two suspects have been arrested, one is a juvenile.

Police don't believe they were working together.
